Introduction

During the months of February through to May 2025, we have continued ongoing projects and also commenced new ones. Our commitment remains steadfast to our long-term goal of ensuring that sexual minority groups in Nigerian and the West African Region are free from discrimination and prejudice.

Activities undertaken during this period

  1. Responding to 15 human rights violation cases across 5 states in Nigeria, based on SOGIESC and provided legal support in the form of counsel and mediation. These cases include sexual assault, kito, police extortion and unlawful displacement.
  1. Our Health and Wellness Department organized capacity-building training in SRHR advocacy for 25 queer womxn in Lagos.
  1. We have continued to provide a safe place for marginalized communities to meet, socialize, and discuss important issues happening within their communities. These events happened monthly during this period with feeding and entertainment provided to all attendees from funds received from individual and organization donors.
  1. We launched various campaigns online that addressed the need for HIV and STI testing, safe sex and digital security.
  1. TIERs continued to provide free mental health therapy for members of the community. We also launched a campaign through the month of May 2025 to commemorate Mental Health Awareness Month.
  1. TIERs launched a monthly series on Twitter where we leave the mic to anyone who wants to talk and rant about what is going on in their lives. This has been really helpful forpeople who do not have people to talk to about their issues. It helps them feel a sense of community and makes them feel seen. The funds received fromGlobalGivinghas been instrumental in helping fund the data cost to host these Twitter spaces.
  1. Using the funds from this platform, we have been able to run paid ads on our educational infographics and other content. Due to this we have had people reach out to us via different channels to access TIERs' free services like mental health support, litigation, safe housing and non-judgmental medical care.

Conclusion

We are thankful to our donors on this platform and others who have helped us get closer to our goal of human rights for all regardless of religion, gender, sexualityand gender expression. We are also thankful to our governmental partners like National Human Rights Commission Nigeria (NHRC), Lagos State AIDS Control Agency (LSACA), National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), and Network of People living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN) for their help in helping us provide the health and legal assistance to marginalizedcommunities.
