With the launch of Homeless Diamonds issue 31 (pictured) at St Mungo’s Wellbeing Day in Clapham we began our second decade of publication.
Our cover this time is by a member of staff, now working in another organisation but still supporting HD. Although most contributors have experience of homelessness, the magazine is a shared space – residents, workers, rough sleepers, volunteers and members of the public (our “guest” writers) all bring their ideas and talents to the magazine.
Shared space is a valuable thing. And thanks to our donors at Global Giving we are expanding this space with the newly-established annual Anshu Asthana Memorial Exhibition at Omnibus in Clapham and our part in the annual ONE Festival of Homeless Arts at Diorama in Euston. These public events, as well as the continuing long-term publication of Homeless Diamonds, bring confidence and opportunity to vulnerable people, and encourage us all to seek better social outcomes.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
