By Jennifer Burnham | Coordinator, Homeless Diamonds Magazine
Homeless Diamonds contributors have many difficulties to overcome, but by engaging with the magazine and our community of readers and supporters they are on the way to finding valuable roles in the community.
Some have used their experience as a basis for further research into issues of homelessness and exclusion where their contribution is vital to any solution. Some are using their experience – as paid workers or as volunteers - to support others going through the same difficulties.
Our contributors work on every aspect of the magazine: submitting content, interviewing, editing, designing, proofing and distributing. Next summer they will have the opportunity to perform to an audience at the Omnibus Centre in south London with poetry and music performance and displays of artwork and photography.
Our 10th anniversary is in 2016 – on our way there we’ll try to convince you, our donors, of the great value of this little magazine. We welcome your comments, questions and suggestions!
