Through the support of this campaign, Reach For A Dream’s Laughter Heroes has brough moments of play, connection and a little bit of normalcy into the lives of not only our dreamers, but their families and medical personnel too. Sharing a laugh or joining in a playful activity offers a welcome break and distraction from the worries of hospital life for children facing life-threatening illnesses. Parents and caregivers have also had the chance to share a happy moment with their child, creating a precious memory during a difficult time of unfamiliar routine and treatments. These moments of connection help lift spirits and support the emotional well-being of children and their families whilst in hospital.
Feedback from families reinforces why this programme matters. 95% of parents said their children were happier after interacting with a Laughter Hero. It is a powerful reminder that emotional support is an essential part of caring for our draemers and it is you, our supporters who help make these visits possible.
