Laughter Heroes

By Natalie Lazaris | Head of Business

Established in 2007 by Reach For A Dream, Laughter Heroes is a unique initiative that brings therapeutic entertainment to vulnerable children across our dream rooms.

According to clinical research "Laughter and Fun can minimise anxiety levels, decrease medical procedure-related pain and improve psychological well-being.

The laughter heroes initiative is centred around bringing therapeutic entertainers into the hospital wards. Using arts-based activities such as comedy, juggling, magic, mime and storytelling, these entertainers help restore and improve the mental, physical and emotional well-being of the children and their caregivers.

They offer these children not just a momentary distraction from their pain and sadness, but also a chance to smile as well as finding new sources of courage and hope. In 2023 our laughter heroes brought smiles to faces of 11,085 children. Each one of these smiles represents a moment of trumph over adversity, a testament to the healing power of laughter.
