She's bold, she's beautiful, and she survived a life of misery at a California biomedical research laboratory. Please allow me to introduce you to Ethel the Mini-Pig. Now, she calls Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary "home, sweet, home".
It's a rarity for animals to be released from biomedical research. When we received an urgent call to help Ethel and 15 other pigs who were used in painful research procedures, we had to step into action.
Since her arrival at the sanctuary earlier this summer, Ethel (all 56 pounds of her!) has taken the sanctuary by storm. She spends her days grazing on grass, bathing in her own pool, enjoying fruit salads, napping with her new dog friends, and patrolling the refrigerator for snacks in the farmhouse. Yes, she lives in the house with us!
Today, Ethel is calling on you to help us buy our first-ever animal rescue van. It's been a long road for us to raise the funds needed to buy a van. But, we will not give up until we reach our goal.
Together, we can generate the remaining $25,000+ needed to buy a van. In times of emergency rescues, the sanctuary needs a vehicle we can safely transport both large and small animals in need.
This Wednesday, September 16th, starting at 6 AM PST, you can boost your donation by 30%. Don’t miss this great opportunity to support our work.
Little Ethel’s big dreams of finding freedom from cruel animal testing came true. Never again will Ethel be confined in a tiny steel cage at a lab.
With your help, we can make miracles happen for more animals just like Ethel. Thank you for being a part of our work to build a more compassionate world around us. Let’s make our van campaign a great success in honor of Ethel!
