A Big Thank You from Seema

By Jyoti Tajane | Programme Director

Seema enrolled in the beauty and wellness at our vocational skills trianing center with lot of hesitation. She had never been to a classroom after she dropped out of formal schooling in 7th standard 8 years before. Her father disowned her mother and her 3 sibblings when she was 12 year old, her mother started working as domestic help and so seema had to droupout of school to take care of her younger sibblings.

When community outreach worker met her in the beginning og this year, Seema had started working as domestice help earning 2500 Rs. for working with three families in the morning and evening. When we told her that she can be skilled trained and enter into an organise workforce she looked at us in disbelief however agreed to visit the center and opeted for Training in Beauty and wellness. she took about 6 Months to completed a course that generally offered for 4 months but passed her examination with flying colours. Recently she secured job with renowned chain of Salons in Mumbai with starting salary of 12,000 Rs and other social security benefits.

Last week when she came to meet us she was full of life, the glow of happiness was clerely visible and we spent entire evening listening to her stories of her new life.

These life changing interventions have only being possible with support you and many like you have provided to us.
