Dental Check-Up in Meliruppu Village, Cuddalore District, Tamil Nadu
Prime Trust, in collaboration with the Vel Dental Team, orchestrated a meaningful endeavor by organizing a complimentary dental camp in Meliruppu village, situated within the Cuddalore district, on the 29th of July, 2023. These dental camps hold immense significance in delivering essential healthcare services to underserved communities while fostering the promotion of dental hygiene.
Throughout the camp, dedicated dentists and proficient healthcare professionals administered comprehensive dental check-ups, basic treatments, and valuable oral health education. Additionally, essential provisions such as toothbrushes and toothpaste were thoughtfully distributed among the villagers, further enhancing the impact of this outreach. The result was a notable enhancement in the oral well-being of the community, coupled with an amplified understanding of the pivotal role dental care plays in overall health. Undoubtedly, initiatives of this nature assume a pivotal role in elevating the collective health and quality of life for all members of the community.
A privileged visit to the Kattunayakan tribe community at Neyveli
The Kattunayakan tribe is an indigenous community primarily found in the southern part of India, particularly in the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. They are considered one of the scheduled tribes in India, which means they are officially recognized as historically disadvantaged communities that require special attention and support for their development.
The Kattunayakan people have traditionally lived in forested regions and have been dependent on hunting, gathering, and forest-based livelihoods. Over time, as forest areas have been subject to conservation efforts and development projects, the traditional lifestyle of the Kattunayakan tribe has been impacted.
On 29.07.2023 the Prime Trust Founder and Managing Director Mr. S.M. Arasu visited and interacted with the people of the Kattunayakan tribe. Sparingly used clothes were distributed to the people. Prime Trust is planning to start an evening school for the children in the community.
Volunteers impart instruction in both English and Science to the children.
Volunteers have the power to make a profound impact on the lives of children, particularly in the realm of education. Teaching English, a global lingua franca, proves especially advantageous as it can unlock numerous future opportunities for children. The level of enjoyment and engagement that children experience during their learning activities holds paramount importance. This not only enhances their grasp of the subject matter but also instills the motivation to pursue continuous learning. Additionally, deriving enjoyment from learning can establish positive associations with the educational process, a particularly advantageous aspect of language acquisition.
On July 29, 2023, volunteers hailing from Tindivanam and Neyveli were presented with a wonderful opportunity to dedicate their time and effort to educating the children at Janani Home.
