Business Management Training

A total of 106 graduates of Vijana Amani Pamoja’s sports-based life skills graduates underwent a Basic Business Management Skills training, which took place in Mathare slum area. The training brought on board participants from four different slum areas around Nairobi that included: Mathare, Kibera, Kiambio and Korogocho.

Amongst the participants, there was a handful of other former economic empowerment graduates who came to provide support and testimonials of how their businesses have picked up and how much of knowledge their gained from such trainings for them to prosper in their respective businesses. Additionally, there were several business professional guests that were invited to provide helpful information and insights about businesses, successes and how to overcome challenges.

Participants were taken through various business topics that included: Personal Goals, Developing Business Idea, Business Skills and Knowledge amongst other information. After the training, participants were assigned practical tasks for further learning, conduct community walk observations and a market survey which they will present in two weeks time to a panel of judges for vetting and business kits awarding process. “Am so grateful for the trainings, the knowledge that I have gained will enable me to start my small business and strive to expand it. This will enable me to support my two children and even my entire family” Said 19 years old Jessica.
