This year’s kick ‘N’ Test voluntary Counselling Testing football community tournament was stretched out and held at VAP’s upcoming facility, a place of pride for the youth and the community at large.Despite the facility being raw and some parts still under construction, the football pitch attracted over 10 schools from the neighboring community aged 12-16 years both boys and girls along side their respective teachers. The tournament which was done under the culture of Kick N Test included various side activities which included HIV football based activities coated with HIV key messages conducted by Skillz coaches, playing of football matches and the highlight of the event which was HIV testing and the distribution of HIV oral self-testing kits to the ‘hard to reach’ members of the society which included people involved in the construction industry, truck drivers, and public transport industry. The event was backed up by community health workers and volunteers.”My job has always been keeping me busy, but am happy to know about the Oral Self-testing kits. This will make it easier for me to test myself any where at my comfort place”.Said John a truck driver.
