Every year, CJFI achieves excellence in empowering children and communities through various holistic approaches and interventions. With the admitted disadvantaged and poor children in the residential care center as either neglected, abandoned, orphaned or dependent, the foundation strives to make sure that these children live a life of responsibility and accountability and become a strong pillar in nation-building.
This vision is parallel to this year’s National Children’s Month themed “Karapatang Pambata: Patuloy na Pahalagahan at Gampanan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan”, which focuses of child’s rights. CJFI Cebu beneficiaries, both the residential-based and community-based beneficiaries, alongside the CJFI staff were positive and enthusiastic in helping out not only during the event’s preparation but also on the big day itself.
The implementation accommodated over one hundred beneficiaries of the Brgy. Cubacub Community, and was attended by their ever-supportive officials namely Brgy Chairman Hon. Almario P. Bihag, Brgy Midwife Mrs. Mary Desire Bacasmas, RM and Brgy. Councilor Mr. Celso Vega.
It was a fun-filled day full of goodies and prizes donated by CJFI major sponsors, wherein some of them hosted games and interacted with the kids, particularly the Jollibee mascot who surprised the kids making them overwhelmed with joy and fun.
After the energetic games, CJFI Cebu beneficiaries entertained the Brgy Cubacub constituents through a Christmas musical medley presentation by playing rondalla, singing, and dancing. Foods like bread, cakes, muffins, cupcakes, donuts, candies, chips, hamburgers, sausages, siomai, and drinks like juices, milk and chocolate drinks, and even school supplies and toys were given to their heart’s content. Not only that, they get to enjoy the free haircut services sponsored by CJFI Cebu as early as 8:30 in the morning.
Brgy Cubacub officials all expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the management of CJFI Cebu, sponsors and most especially to the founding President of CJFI, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy for making this event possible, as it is their first time to witness a non-government organization exerting such effort and extra mile that brought big smiles to their constituents. They expressed that Brgy. Cubacub is very lucky for having CJFI in their community because they are not only helping children under their care but also extending help to the community while seeing true compassion and love in every staff and volunteer. The event has deeply touched the lives of those involved and are looking forward to a more fruitful partnership with CJFI Cebu.
