Help, Feed & Save 100 Neglected Animals is a community-based animal welfare initiative by Good Cause Foundation Uganda to support vulnerable and neglected animals in Eastern Uganda. Animals in vulnerable communities across Eastern Uganda can face several barriers to receiving adequate care. Limited household resources: Many families have limited income and may struggle to consistently afford sufficient animal feed, veterinary services, medicines, or appropriate shelter. Limited access to veterinary services: Veterinary services may be difficult to reach or too costly for some animal owners, allowing preventable health problems to become more serious. Good Cause Foundation Uganda will implement a practical, community-based approach focused on both immediate animal welfare needs and longer-term prevention of neglect. 1. Identify and Assess Vulnerable Animals We will work with communities to identify neglected and vulnerable animals and assess their immediate welfare needs. Cases will be prioritized according to urgency and available project resources. 2. Provide Food and Clean Water Animals experiencing inadequate nutrition will receive.
By the end of the project, we aim to: Support 100 neglected or vulnerable animals Provide food and clean water according to individual needs Connect animals requiring medical attention with appropriate veterinary care Improve the immediate welfare conditions of supported animals Provide rescue or temporary safe care where appropriate Strengthen responsible animal-care knowledge among participating owners Conduct community awareness activities on humane and responsible animal ownership
