Summary

ROOT BIZ is a program that inspires and equips young people and rural farmers in Cameroon with skills for agriculture and entrepreneurship. Many have the desire to farm but lack the knowledge, tools, and opportunities to succeed. Through practical workshops held twice a year, participants receive training, tools, mentorship, market access, and networking opportunities to grow successful farming businesses, create income, and strengthen their communities.

Challenge

While agriculture can create jobs, provide food, and reduce poverty, many young people and rural farmers in Cameroon lack the skills, tools, and opportunities needed to succeed. Poor farming practices, land degradation, and a focus on short-term profit have weakened the land and reduced food production. There is a need to restore the land, promote better farming methods, and equip youth and farmers with knowledge and resources to grow food, create income, and build stronger communities.

Solution

NASLAAfrica is creating opportunities for young people and rural farmers in Cameroon through practical agriculture training, entrepreneurship support, and mentorship. Through hands-on farming experiences and workshops, participants learn how to grow food, start businesses, and build sustainable livelihoods. Our team provides guidance, tools, resources, and connections to opportunities in agriculture. By investing in people and the land, we are helping create jobs and strengthen communities.

Long-Term Impact

The long-term impact of ROOT BIZ is to create a generation of skilled and confident farmers in Cameroon who are running sustainable agricultural businesses, creating jobs, and contribute to resilient communities. Through practical knowledge, mentorship, and support, participants will improve food security, restore degraded land, adopt better farming practices, and become leaders in building resilient communities that protect the environment and create opportunities for a better future.
