Reporters Without Borders (RSF) is excited to announce that we have a new ally for the protection of journalists in UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. Last month, RSF Secretary General Christophe Deloire and Executive Director of Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) Joel Simon met with Secretary General Guterres to discuss the #ProtectJournalists campaign, which works to establish a concrete mechanism that enforces international law and thereby reduces the number of journalists killed every year in the course of their work. The support of UN Secretary General Guterres is extremely meaningful to us at RSF and we hope that working along side him will prevent more journalists from being kidnapped, tortured, or killed.
Thank you on behalf of Reporters Without Borders for believing in our mission and for supporting us in these trying times. The protection and safety of journalists worldwide will always be our first priority. We would not be here without the continued support of our donors.
