Campaign Phase: Active Fundraising & Pantry Build-Out Planning
Dear GlobalGiving Community,
Thank you for standing with American Aid (A A Relief) as we work to build a permanent food pantry for DMV families losing SNAP benefits. Across our region, food costs remain 25% higher, emergency food requests have risen 40%, and 1 in 6 DMV families now faces food insecurity. This pantry is our community's answer: consistent, dignified food access—no applications, no limits, no judgment.
While fundraising remains at its earliest stage, we used this quarter to deepen operational readiness so we can move immediately as donations grow.
Progress Update (This Quarter)
This quarter our focus was on program readiness and planning:
Refined our dignified pantry distribution model—minimizing barriers, paperwork, and delays for families losing SNAP. Advanced coordination with local food banks, farms, and community volunteers to support weekly distributions of nutritious food boxes and fresh produce. Strengthened tracking and documentation systems to report clearly on families served, food boxes distributed, and emergency supplies provided from day one.
Community Need & Food Security Urgency
The need in our region is immediate:
32 states cut SNAP benefits in 2025, removing millions from assistance. Food costs remain 25% higher while families face job loss and unstable income. Emergency food requests have increased 40%, and local pantries are overwhelmed.
Behind every statistic is a parent skipping meals so their children can eat, a senior choosing between groceries and medicine, a working family falling behind despite doing everything right.
Program Model (What Funding Will Deliver)
Weekly distributions of nutritious food boxes for families facing SNAP loss and crisis. Fresh produce through partnerships with local farms and food networks. Emergency supplies for families experiencing sudden hardship. No applications, no limits, no wait lists. Volunteer-powered operations to maximize impact per dollar. Connections to job training referrals, SNAP re-enrollment guidance, and stabilizing resources
Challenges & Strategic Response
Primary Challenge: With $100 raised toward a $100,000 goal, we cannot yet begin full pantry operations at the scale this community needs.
Our response this quarter:
Building a scalable, phased plan so distributions can begin as soon as initial funding thresholds are reached. Strengthening partner coordination to reduce costs and maximize families reached per dollar. Maintaining transparency and measurable reporting from day one.
Next Quarter Plan (Pending Funding Growth)
Launch initial pantry distributions prioritizing families most impacted by SNAP loss. Report concrete outputs: food boxes distributed, produce provided, and households reached. Strengthen the supply pipeline through partner coordination and volunteer mobilization.
Expected Long-Term Impact
Families redirect limited income toward rent, utilities, and medical needs without sacrificing meals. Children arrive at school well-fed and ready to learn. Parents avoid crisis spirals caused by food insecurity. The pantry becomes a community anchor—connecting families to pathways of lasting stability.
Food security is not just food—it is dignity, stability, and hope restored.
Closing
We are ready to grow quickly as support increases. Your donation will help build a permanent pantry that protects families losing SNAP—providing consistent food access with dignity and no barriers.
With gratitude,
