University of the People College Program
Following the 2010 earthquake, twenty-eight of Haiti’s thirty-two’s universities were destroyed, leaving the dream of many to attend college and obtain advanced degrees a mere dream. Because the country has been able to rebuild the universities and infrastructure remains one of the country’s greatest problems, students are forced to explore other options, including leaving their home country for a better education and a life. LCM believes that it is important to introduce all resources and programs that will allow these young men and women to pursue an advanced degree while living in their own country, and eventually help bring greater prosperity to all in their community. LCM has partnered with the University of the People, a nonprofit located in the United States that is able to offer eligible students an online college education. In time, students will graduate with degrees in business administration, computer science, or health science.
Vocational School Program- Ground Breaking December 22, 2016!!
We understand that naturally not everybody wants to pursue a university degree.
A vocational school, is a higher-level learning institution that specializes in providing students with the vocational education and technical skills they need in order to perform the tasks of a particular job. The goal to impart job-specific training and education to students who are typically bound for one of the skilled trades, rather than providing academic training for students pursuing careers in a professional discipline.
Through the LCM trade school we hope to train young adults to become skilled: electricians, plumbers, pipe fitters, block masons, carpenters, tile setters, cement masons and concrete finishers, construction equipment operators, auto mechanics, painters, seamstress, or tailors.
