Distance, poverty, and deeply rooted social norms continue to stand in the way of many needy girls and women. Yet every day, young girls choose courage. They walk miles, hold on to their dreams, and step into classrooms filled with hope.
At El Shaddai Charitable Trust, we stand beside these girls and women as they shape their own futures. Your support makes this work possible. Through your generous donations, we are providing access to quality education, creating safe learning environments, and opening doors to opportunities that help them grow with confidence and independence. As part of our outreach efforts, counselling sessions were conducted for young girls, providing them with essential guidance, information, and emotional support.
The new academic year began with children joyfully returning to Shanti Niketan, formal schools, and slum schools supported by El Shaddai Centres across Goa. Children received educational support, guidance, and essential school materials to help them start the year confidently. At Shanti Niketan, students resumed learning in a caring and child-friendly environment. Children enrolled in formal schools were successfully reintegrated and encouraged to continue their education. Community Centres continued to support children in slum areas through remedial education and school readiness programmes. This initiative reflects El Shaddai’s ongoing commitment to ensuring every child has access to quality education and a brighter future.
Every lesson they learn becomes a quiet act of resistance against the barriers that once held them back. For many families, educating a daughter is not an easy choice. But when a girl stays in school, everything begins to change, not only for her, but for her entire community. She gains the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions, support her family, and inspire others to follow her path. Thank you for believing in the potential of girls. Thank you for investing in their dreams. Together, we are doing more than supporting education; we are nurturing a generation of girls who are ready to lead, uplift others, and create a more equal future.
Our Girls’ and Women’s Empowerment Project continues to transform lives. Learning sewing skills offers significant economic benefits by creating opportunities for flexible, low-overhead home-based businesses. Women generate income through custom tailoring, alterations, and the sale of handmade products. These skills not only help them earn a livelihood but also enable them to save money on clothing repairs and tap into a growing demand for unique, personalised items.
We were also able to visit several women at their places of business and witness firsthand the positive impact that your support has made. It was encouraging to see how the funds have helped their businesses grow and strengthen their financial independence.
We sincerely thank you for your continued support. Your generosity is helping us empower women and create opportunities for school children through our various programs. Because of you, girls from some of the most economically disadvantaged communities in Goa are gaining access to safe, high-quality education and life-changing opportunities. Together, we are building brighter futures and creating lasting change.
