Help Educate 330 Mukinyai School Orphans, Kenya

By Lucy Mathennge | Project Assistant

We are still fundraising for the youths’ workshop from Mukinyai village but we have not raised much but we are still working on that.  10 students were able to join boarding high schools while others joined day schools from the neighbourhood.  3 of them were able to get full scholarships from different supporters and for the rest their parents and guardians are working hard to ensure they are in schools.  Those in primary school are proceeding on well with challenges here and there but we are happy they are slowly coping and more importantly still going to school despite the challenges.  We had requested the relevant government offices to consider supporting the very venerable households but unfortunately not much has been done towards that direction.  A few have benefited from Community Development Fund (CDF) bursary and we are still pushing them to consider providing the same to more very needy pupils from the area.  We hope they will honor our request and have more pupils from benefiting from Mukinyai area.  We thank all those who have supported the community in different ways be blessed.
