Help Educate 330 Mukinyai School Orphans, Kenya

By Lucy Mathenge | Project Assistant

In Mukinyai we have not done much in the previous period but we are hoping to continue raising funds for the project. We have been informed that some of the orphans beneficiaries were candidates this year and they did their final primary examination last week and their guardians had requested the school to help them get sponsors for these pupils to enable them continue with secondary education next year. We are not in a position of promising them anything at the moment but we have suggested to them to approach Equity Bank of Kenya which normally provides scholarships to the needy students those who score 350/500 marks in the final exams. We hope they will sponsor some of these pupils. We are still considering supporting the rest but this will only depend on the results of our fundraising.
We have been conducting monitoring and evaluation for the chicken and rabbits project and we are happy to report that the progress is good. Some of the families have really achieved on this and they have been able to provide the most basic needs for the children. We are happy that this has resulted to improved livelihoods. We will continue fundraising for this project and we believe we will support more needy families. We thank all our partners and well-wishers.
