Our beneficiaries from Mukinyai are progressing on well. Students are back to school after 2 weeks break during elections. As earlier reported, this year we were not in a position to accommodate more beneficiaries in our program despite the list of request being very long. It has been very challenging in fund raising hence making it difficult to extend support to the increasing number of needy and vulnerable students in the area. Although supporting vulnerable students is critical, we will a bit change direction and focus on improving community livelihood through poultry rearing as a source of family nutrition improvement and source of income. The activity is in the project but we focused mainly on students education support but due to fundraising challenges, we will diversify a bit and support a few vulnerable families with chicken to assess how the activity will result to. Necofa has been supporting vulnerable households in chicken rearing project and we have realized commendable results. Beneficiary community in Mau forest have reported good progress and benefits through the activity. Families have been having healthy diets by eating eggs and chicken meat. On the other hand they have been earning income through sales of eggs and chickens as well. We intend to kick start the activity in Mukinyai village next month and we have already identified 5 vulnerable households to start with. We remain optimistic that the activity will be successful and will benefit the identified families. Upon success, we will officially focus to that direction and support more vulnerable families although we will continue fundraising towards education support and if successful we will implement both activities concurrently. To realize all these dreams we call upon our good friends, donors and well-wishers to contribute to our project. Thank you so much for your generous support, we really appreciate.
