Our students and pupils have been at home since mid March 2020 due to covid 19 in the country as earlier reported. Parents, learners and teachers had hopes that by now learning would have resumed as usual but this has not been the case since the virus has been spreading for the last couple of months. It is obvious now the year 2020 has been wasted for the learners and the candidates feel the pinch more than the rest. They were supposed to sit for their final exams later this year beginning November but the story is now totally different. In the course of the week, the Kenya government has announced that there are possibilities of reopening schools next month (October) although the official communication has not been given. Learners are ready to report back to school after extremely long break. Candidates will have no choice but to prepare for their final exams next year 2021. It is our hope that the disease will come to an end as the students report back to school. The government has promised to observe all measures as directed by the ministry of health to ensure safety of the students, teachers and the subordinate staff involved. We all hope for the best for our schools as we are all looking forward to see things get back to normal. With the learners being out of schools for that long period, challenges have been increasing each and everyday both to the parents and learners. There have been very many negative cases reported concerning learners where young school girls in primary and secondary schools have been reported of getting pregnant since March while others have been involved in early marriages. There have been reported cases also of learners killing others as a result of love relationships all this because they have been out of schools for very long time. In our program we have not received any negative case from our beneficiaries and we are optimistic that they will all report back to school in good health once the schools are opened. We plan to visit different schools where our beneficiaries are to be sure that they have reported back as we also give them moral support and especially the candidates. In our next report we look forward to positive reports on the progress of our beneficiaries. Thank you all for your continued support.
