Bal Asha Trust Update - July 2021

By Sunil Arora | Executive Director

Greetings from Bal Asha Trust, India!

We are all safe and doing well in Bal Asha. The world is still affected by this deadly pandemic but all of us have learnt to adapt in such tough times,

Journey for a healthy heart

Rashi, a one and a half-year-old baby girl, was diagnosed with a life-threatening hole in her heart at the time of her birth. While she was in an adoptive agency 400 kms away, she could not be treated due to her complicated condition.

Since Rashi was special, not many childcare organizations agreed to accept her. We wholeheartedly welcomed her to our family. Bal Asha has cared for children with such conditions in the past, our arms are open to every little one that needs help. We stood up to the challenge, irrespective of the circumstances, baby Rashi reached Jaslok Hospital in South Bombay.Due to providence with the best facilities, top-notch doctors and Bal Asha’s generous donors like Tata Trust, Rashi successfully went through her open-heart surgery within fourteen days. She is now fit and fine. Looking at this little soul battled it all at such a young age, filled everyone’s hearts with joy. Rashi is now under Bal Asha’s care, where she is receiving all the love, health care and nutrition that she needs.

Activities at the children's Home

This month was very exciting for our kids since many online volunteering activities were organised in collaboration with companies like Google India and Morgan Stanley. Activities like painting, craft and interactive sessions where the volunteers engaged the children by showing them videos on fun topics like the solar system and different professions.

The employees of Google India volunteered to teach our office staff Google Drive and Google Ad-words, which will help us streamline our workflow.

Rehabilitation of Children

We were able to declare one of our children and three other children from different organisations free for Adoption, which means that now these children have a chance to be legally adopted, which enables them to have a bright future and be a part of a loving family.

We are thankful for your support in these testing times. Please accept our heartfelt gratitude.

Thank You,

Sunil Arora

Executive Director
