Deaf Welfare Awareness Foundation (DWAF) seeks support to send two Pakistani Deaf community leaders to the 75th World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) Conference in Rome, Italy, on 24-25 September 2026. They will represent Pakistan, build global partnerships, learn international best practices in Deaf inclusion, education, employment, sports, and advocacy, and transfer this knowledge to Deaf youth and thousands of Deaf individuals across Pakistan.
Pakistan's Deaf community has limited opportunities to engage with global networks, access international best practices, or advocate on the world stage. Deaf leaders often lack financial resources to participate in major international events where partnerships, innovations, and inclusive policies are developed. As a result, over 70 Deaf youth currently trained by DWAF, and thousands more across Pakistan, miss opportunities that could improve education, employment, sports, and leadership.
This project will enable two DWAF leaders to represent Pakistan at the 75th World Federation of the Deaf Conference in Rome. They will gain practical knowledge, build partnerships, and explore opportunities for inclusive employment, digital skills, Deaf sports, and entrepreneurship. After returning, they will share this learning through workshops, mentoring, and new initiatives that directly benefit over thousands deaf trainees and strengthen Pakistan's Deaf community.
The project will strengthen Pakistan's Deaf movement by building international partnerships, attracting future collaborations, and introducing global best practices in inclusion, education, employment, entrepreneurship, and Deaf sports. Knowledge gained at the WFD Conference will be shared with Deaf trainees and community leaders, creating a ripple effect that benefits thousands of Deaf individuals through improved opportunities, stronger advocacy, and sustainable community-led development.
