The Vocational Learning Centre will provide market-driven skills to youths around Kibera, Nairobi, Kenya. There is a high demand for skills courses and very few learning centres are available to match the demand. The high youth unemployment around Kibera evidences this. Therefore, the Vocational Learning Centre is very much needed to address the market demand for a skilled labor force. This will be a two-storey building that will have adequate space for classrooms, workshops and a community library.
Construction is currently at the ground floor level. The substructure works are complete, and the ground floor walling works are 80% done. The total project budget is $100,000. Thanks to your generous support, $39,600 has been raised. However, $60,400 is still needed to make the project a reality. Construction is on a break as we raise the amount required to complete the project.
A lot of progress has been achieved, and we still appeal for your support in order to actualise this project. Support in the form of funds donations as well as donations in kind (preferably building materials and classroom fixtures) are highly welcome as we strive to complete the building project and make the Vocational Learning Centre a reality for youths in Kibera slums, Nairobi, Kenya.
