In the past five years that Charitable Incorporated Community Organization Uganda have been here, 200 primary caregivers have learnt of good nutrition for mothers, expectant women and for the children, especially those under the age of five. They have also been taught on how to manage their homes and maintain hygiene in their surroundings. They have also sensitized on how to use natural resources with care. All theses was possible through your generosity support towards our upcoming projects.
Climate is changing, and it has not been easy last year. And we know that things may never be the same again, however we have impacted our primary caregivers in their various communities on how to adapt to a changing climate. For instance last year a 4% of households only harvested 5-6 bags of maize as opposed to the occasional 30 bags, and this was due to cyclone Freddy.
To ensure they have enough food to eat, communities have decided to continue making investments beyond just farming, to ensure they have multiple sources of income. As an organization, we are committed on our voice of advocacy for children in poverty and we ought to continue support households through small local savings groups with start capital, so that they can have another income to selflessly supplement their needs at home; in addition to livestock rearing and crop production.
Once again we are so much grateful for your generosity and amidst the many personal challenges you could have spent this funds for, but you chose to support our child ministry! We give God the Glory and we send you blessings in Jesus Names.
