During 3 months we raised $4500 for our project in GlobalGiving. The money we collected was spent to pay for pacemaker Shumakova Victoria from Kursk region.
Vika has a complex congenital heart disease: Ebstein's anomaly. Ventricular septal defect. Degree atrioventricular block 3. Pacemaker battery depletion. The first operation was carried out in 2009 Bakulev center in Moscow. Next - a week and a few days later Vick was implanted pacemaker.
Recently, Vika’s mother began to notice that her daughter gets tired quickly appeared dyspnea, became dizzy. After examination in Bakuleva Center revealed that pacemaker urgent need to change - pacemaker battery is nearly empty. Cost of the new pacemaketer – 4 400 US dollars.
Thanks to the donations collected through the Internet Portal - Global Giving, the fund was able to immediately pay for the necessary Vika’s pacemaker.
February 7, 2014 in the center of Bakulev new pacemaker was successfully implanted Vika. The operation was uneventful, and the baby was on February 12 already discharged home .
