In many communities in Uganda, education is the only pathway out of poverty. Yet for many children from disadvantaged families, staying in school is not guaranteed. At Rigby Foundation, we identified 100 children from extremely poor households who dropped out of school simply because their families cannot afford basic educational necessities. Many of these children lack simple but essential items such as school uniforms, shoes, exercise books, pens, and school lunch. Without these no education.

For many struggling families, providing these essentials is simply beyond their means. As a result, children from disadvantaged backgrounds drop out of school.
The Rigby Foundation seeks to raise $10,000 to help 100 vulnerable children return to school by providing the essential materials and support they need to participate in education. The funds will be used to cover key educational necessities that many families cannot afford. This includes tuition support, school uniforms, durable shoes, exercise books, pens, and school lunch support. By providing these items, the project will remove the immediate barriers to the children's education.
This project will enable 100 children from disadvantaged backgrounds to return to school and continue their education, creating a meaningful and lasting impact in their lives. Education plays a crucial role in breaking the cycle of poverty. When children are able to stay in school, they gain knowledge, skills, and confidence that can open doors to future opportunities.
