Plain air in Ahtopol
At the end a September, students and young artists set off for a weeklong plain air in the tranquil fishing village of Ahtopol, hosted by one of the most seasoned fisherman in the country. They were given a lot of insight how much actually goes into fishing and that it’s not just throwing a rod in the sea. The area was hit by a heavy storm a few weeks prior, filling the coast with debris and trash. The aftermath however, which many would have considered unsightly, gave the participants a new and different ways to express themselves. From capturing the textures created by the trees and branches washed ashore to actually using them to create many different thing – rafts, cameras, even using them as a canvas.
2023-2024 School year
In the beginning of October more than 90 kids and young adults signed up for the art school. This year the courses they could sign up for were:
Fine art – 3 separate age and skill groups in which the students are shown everything from basic techniques to finessing their own style and preparing them for their further studies.
Photography – where they are shown how to expose, compose and use the light both in the studio and on group outings.
Cinematography – covering all the aspects of a cinema production – writing, directing, cinematography, acting and many others.
Percussions – where they learn everything from reading sheet music and keeping a rhythm to using a complete drum set
3D Modelling – in which they are shown how to model, texture and visualise their ideas.
3 exhibitions:
Sim&Pav
This is the third individual exhibition of the 13 year old twins, which continue to astonish everyone with their exceptional skillset in different mediums: Watercolour, marker, oil painting, digital art and even animations.
Jin&Jinjifil
An exhibition of all the works from both the plain airs from 2023, which completely filled our art salon with more than 60 artworks. The quality and variety of the work was even more impressive – from watercolour to digital paintings, from abstract photography to sculptures – there was something for everyone.
Exhibition No5
In January we created an exhibition from everything Dedal did 2023 making us realise how much great things happened in just a single year, motivating us everything yet to happen in 2024!
