Across Ukraine, children are growing up surrounded by war. Air raid sirens, displacement, and uncertainty have become part of daily life—leaving many children struggling with anxiety, fear, and emotional distress they cannot easily express.
Through our A Child’s Smile Program, Hope For Ukraine is creating safe spaces where children can begin to heal.
In a recent session, children gathered around tables filled with clay, paint, and simple materials. What may look like a basic activity quickly becomes something much deeper. One child carefully shaped a flower from clay, while another painted bright, hopeful scenes—moments that reflect not just creativity, but healing.
Art gives children a way to express emotions they often cannot put into words. In these classrooms, we see transformation happen in real time. Children begin to smile, collaborate, and take pride in what they create. For a moment, they are not defined by fear or instability—they are simply children again.
Today, this project supports over 600 children each week, providing not only creative outlets, but also stability, encouragement, and a sense of normal life.
Your support makes this possible.
Because of you, these spaces exist. Instead of sitting in fear, children are learning, creating, and reconnecting with hope. Each drawing, each sculpture, and each shared laugh is a step toward healing.
Thank you for helping children in Ukraine recover, grow, and imagine a brighter future.
