Our local partners are working tirelessly to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the regions they serve. They are urgently implementing handwashing stations, teaching social distancing, distributing soap, translating educational posters into local languages, and so much more—all to equip as many people as possible with the resources they need to stay healthy.
To empower this lifesaving work, we’re launching a COVID-19 Relief Fund to support our local partners on the frontlines.
Without strong healthcare systems to rely on, prevention is absolutely critical to protecting vulnerable people in developing countries from the coronavirus pandemic. 100% of your donation to our COVID-19 Relief Fund will help our local partners deliver lifesaving water, sanitation, and hygiene resources to communities in need.Click here to view a message from our CEO, Scott Harrison.IN CLOSING, A LITTLE GOOD NEWSMechanics at the Relief Society of Tigray (REST), our local partner in Tigray, Ethiopia, have now been classified as “frontline workers.” In addition to their regular work, the government has requested their support to help repair non-charity: water projects in high-demand areas. These incredible mechanics aren’t just providing repairs; they’re also training local communities on social distancing and proper handwashing—a service that requires great sacrifice. They are fully isolated from their families in an effort to continue this important work while keeping everyone as safe and healthy as possible.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
