Funds raised through GlobalGiving support our general water fund, so we can use your gift where it's most needed. While we may not be assigning your donation to a specific project, rest assured 100% of what we receive will fund water projects in the areas of greatest need.
One of the countries your gift could go to is Uganda. Families without access to clean water in the Namayingo and Bugiri districts of Uganda spend almost two hours every day walking to collect dirty water. Our Programs team recently surveyed 892 households here and found that women and children invest an average of 115 minutes each day walking, waiting, and collecting water.
115 minutes each day. 700 hours every year. A collective 29 days wasted.
Thanks to supporters like you, this statistic is changing! Our local partners are drilling wells right in the middle of these communities. With clean water closer to home, families are now spending just 15 minutes to collect water-- getting back more than an hour and a half, each and every day.
