This year we have been learning together with the SOLE Colombia Community how a Playground in the Cloud looks like and works. Now it’s time for more than 2000 local educators and other people interested in SOLE to discover it!
We designed on Padlet (the platform we chose for this project) the first version of this online experience based, not only on our own experience as the SOLE Colombia team, but also on the experience of different SOLE ambassadors who already use SOLE in their own communities and were interested in sharing their stories, reading the stories of other members of the Community, learning more about SOLE, connecting with other ambassadors and having fun!
After showing the first version of the Playgrund in The Cloud to some of the members of the SOLE Colombia Community, friends and other people involved in the project and receiving important feedback, we shared this online experience with a much wider audience of new and old SOLE ambassadors.
Last week we had a wonderful chance to share about SOLE with two different groups of teachers. We went to Pamplona, a colonial town in Norte de Santander, and Floridablanca, Santander, in the North of Colombia. For some of them, SOLE was completely new and a big surprise, while others already started doing SOLE 3 years ago. We showed them the Playground in the Cloud and invited them to dream about all the things they could do on a “common online place” like this. It was beautiful to hear that they would love to meet other people, share experiences, play, have fun, talk to each other… Then we invited them to explore the platform to do exactly that: learn, share, play, connect, talk.
This was the first time that we showed, in person, to a larger group of SOLE ambassadors The Playground in The Cloud, and were happy to receive a positive feedback from them. It is a big step to have a “place” like this, where people from all over the country can “go”. It’s different than the regular social networks, this is a place where everybody, anytime, anywhere can contribute.
Now the challenge is to reach more than 2000 local educators who are in different corners of Colombia and that, due to the armed conflict, have been isolated from the rest of the country and the world.
This is why we have been working during the last months, hand in hand with our volunteers, on our marketing campaign. We are still learning and working on the best way to reach local educators all over our country.
So, it is not finished yet...Over the next weeks, we will be working on:
We are very happy for this big step and it couldn’t have been possible without the support of all of our donors and other people who believed in our project. We believe that together, with big small steps, we are changing the world. We are very close to our USD 10,000 goal and invite you to share this project with your friends and family.
A big thank you and stay tuned!
The SOLE Colombia team
