It has been few years since BCF finished the project of "Build 3 homes for 3 Poor Families in Nicaragua". BCF has been working in Nicaragua for well over a decade now, helping the communities in fishermen's towns with housing, education, and health issues. We have had the priviledge of helping these communities for a stable future. We would like to thank you for your donations and would love to share with you a story on how these families are doing.
The Rugama family, one of the families who got beneficiated from this amazing project we did with global giving, have been able to re-organize their lives. The Rugamas were living in very poor conditions before BCF built them a home. Jose Ignacio and Azucena Rugama, togther with their kids, were living in a home that was made of crumbling brick, plastic sheets and bits of cardboard. Rain filtered through the holes in the plastic roof. They were humilitated by their situation. After I saw their homes, I was shocked, epecially when I visited their homes during the raining season in Nicaragua.
Global Giving helped us with the project. They were supportive the whole way. Now, after a few years have passed, the Rugamas are a very happy family. Their kids are growing up in a stable home; the kids are also going to school and are doing a good job keeping up with their education. Before, one of the kids suffered from many allergies and serious health problems due to the unhealthy living condidtions; he is doing very well now. He is growing healthy and getting decend grades.
Life in Nicaragua for impoverished families is very difficult. Nicaragua is still the second poorest country in Latin America (and the poorest country in Central America). Having a decent place to live in makes a big difference in the lives of these people. Jose Ignacio is doing security work for private homes and he is stable and earning a decent salary. Azucena is a housekeeper at private homes and she also does alterations on clothing. Between the two of them, with a lot of effort from their part, they have been giving their children a decent life. All this was possible thanks to BCF, together with Global Giving and our great donors! Thank you again for making a difference in the lives of these people.
EVERYTHING STARTS WITH A DESIRE FOR A BETTER LIFE & A BETTER WORLD. CREATING CHANGE TOGETHER WITH YOU, ONE GOOD DEED AT A TIME. BCF
