Q3 2026 Project Report — Hanbit Youth Foundation
1. Organization Overview Founded in 1994, Hanbit Youth Foundation began by supporting runaway and street-involved youth in the Geoyeo/Macheon area of Songpa-gu, Seoul, and has since expanded its work nationwide to support the sustained growth of at-risk youth. Current core programs include: Alternative schools “School of Love” and “Se-um School” for out-of-school youth “Kkum-Dream”, the Songpa-gu Out-of-School Youth Support Center “Hanbit Village”, a group home for children in out-of-home care Hanbit Youth Global, a scholarship and cultural exchange program for youth in developing countries Hanbit Family Counseling Center, providing mentoring, counseling, and life-cycle support for at-risk youth and their families

2. Q3 Activities and Outcomes
2.1 Alternative Schools (School of Love & Se-um School) Students spent the quarter in intensive preparation for the 2026 second-round middle and high school equivalency examinations. In parallel, a series of experiential learning activities was conducted to support career exploration and interest development.
2.2 Kkum-Dream Out-of-School Youth Support Center Conducted parent education sessions for families of at-risk youth, aimed at restoring healthy family relationships. Continued outreach and case management for socially isolated (“recluse”) youth, covering both identification and follow-up support. Provided academic support and vocational linkage programs to out-of-school youth within Songpa-gu.
2.3 Hanbit Village Group Home Provided children in care with independence training, academic tutoring, and daily caregiving support on a continuous basis throughout the quarter.
2.4 Hanbit Youth Global (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia) On September 22, the Foundation held a Korean-language speech contest, a cultural exchange event, and educational volunteer activities in Ulaanbaatar. The event served as the selection and award ceremony for scholarships granted to local youth and young adults studying Korean.
2.5 At-Risk Youth Mentoring Program At-risk youth were matched with mentors who themselves overcame similar crises and grew through the experience. A total of seven sessions have been held to date. Post-session surveys indicate a very high level of satisfaction, and participating youth have shown measurable changes such as returning to school and establishing career goals.
2.6 Scar Treatment Support Program Two treatment cycles were conducted this quarter in partnership with a medical provider, supporting at-risk youth in receiving scar removal treatment.

3. Plans for Q4 Host the Out-of-School Youth Policy Forum to review current support systems and discuss policy improvements. Hold the Youth Song Festival, an annual event now in its 13th year, providing marginalized youth with an opportunity to perform and participate in cultural activity.
The Foundation will continue its efforts to reach and support at-risk youth in the coming quarter.
