GHNI-Lebanon recently had the privilege of decreasing the suffering in one of the hundreds of refugee camps. This time, we had a special case to take care of. Abed was wounded two years ago when a missile exploded in his home. He was lucky to survive, but he was wounded as shrapnel hit his face.
After he fled to Lebanon and settled in the camp we are focusing on, he came to us for help. Not only was his face deformed, but this shrapnel remains in his face and untreated, just below his eye. His health situation was stable, but it was time-sensitive. No one knew what complications could result in the future.
Abed is a family man and father of a five-year-old son. The family relies on Abed. GHNI took the initiative and had an operation. Now he can work freely and safely without anything dangerous inside of him. He and his family are very grateful for this life change we facilitated.
GHNI-Lebanon is delighted and thankful to our donors for helping us provide help to the less fortunate. Abed is one of thousands who were wounded during the war.
We hope to continue making such positive changes in the lives of these people in need.
