Airlink is working with airline and logistics partners to rapidly provide airlift for NGOs to mitigate the Ebola epidemic and strengthen health systems in the DRC and Uganda by transporting the following: personal protective equipment (N95 masks, gowns, gloves, boots) to protect doctors and other healthcare workers; safe and dignified burial kits to help with containment; and urgently-needed medical supplies to treat patients.
In the spring of 2026, a rare Bundibugyo strain of Ebola spread through the DRC and Uganda, triggering the World Health Organization to declare an international health emergency over the epidemic, prompting a global health response to help contain the outbreak and support the healthcare systems. The number of suspected cases rapidly grew into the hundreds, and is expected to reach the thousands by summer.
Airlink is working with airline and logistics partners to rapidly mobilize NGOs to mitigate the Ebola epidemic and strengthen health systems by moving aid over long distances and to remote locations with limited infrastructure. Airlink is leveraging pre-established routes to quickly transport emergency supplies into affected regions of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda.
Airlink provides critical support in the humanitarian aid supply chain by providing low and no-cost airfare for NGOs working to contain the spread of Ebola and strengthen local healthcare systems. With partners, Airlink will: - Reduce response times by up to 50%, saving lives by working faster - Reduce cost for NGOs: In 2025, Airlink saved NGOs $14M - Remove logistical barriers: Airlink moves aid every 2 days on average utilizing pre-established routes and transport partners
