On June 26th, one of Global Giving's in-the-field represenatives, Kelly Kurz came to visit the GLK Student Fund to meet with trustees, Tanzanian volunteers, and, of course, our students. Hosted by Joyce Lwakatare and Philemon Johannes, Kelly said that "he loved meeting the students." When Kelly arrived, he traveled with Joyce and Philemon to visit KEMPS, the school where Gayle Kliever taught for many years and a school where a number of scholarship students attend.
Kelly also visited another school, KADBEMPS, where one of our scholarship students, Suzan is a primary school student at KADBEMPS. During his visit, Kelly had the opportunity to speak with Suzan and her mother to learn more about her experiences at school.
He also had the opportunity to meet Anagrace, another one of our scholarship students to talk about her schooling and her experience with the GLK Student Fund.
Overall, the visit seems to be positive for all parties. The GLK Student Fund has loved the partnership and support Global Giving has offered us and our students and we look forward to more collaboration in the future!
