In Tanzania, December marks the end of the school year for primary school students. We would like to acknowledge our 2026 GlobalGiving graduating primary school students and send our congratulations to them for all their hard work through the years.
Livinus graduated from Bethania Primary School last month. He and his younger sister Khelivera were originally placed in this excellent school and supported by their mother’s salary as a teacher. Unfortunately, she passed away at the beginning of 2022. At that sad event, both children suffered much time out of the classroom due to lack of tuition payments. Our scholarship fund now assists these good students and are happy with the graduation of Livinus. (See GlobalGiving report from October 2025).
Gibson graduated at the end of August as the number one student in his class at Kibeta English Medium Primary School (KEMPS). He was born in a small village and had just begun preschool when his father died. Because of this, Gibson was not able to continue in school. His uncle – a fish monger – sold fish to the staff of a Bukoba elementary school among other places. The uncle pursued many funding possibilities for Gibson’s education and we accepted him after reviewing his excellent academic record. He has almost always been the top student in his class and just this September 2026, he graduated with straight A’s. His scholarship is directly sponsored by a faithful donor.
Joan is graduating from Lake View School this year. Joan was adopted in 2016 from a local orphanage. She has been given loving care from her adoptive mother since that time, but the planned for funds for her education did not come through. We have been supporting her education since Joan’s early years in primary school and rejoice with her at this great achievement. (See GlobalGiving report on Joan from March 2025).
Julieth graduated was KEMPS in August. Her father died when she was six and soon afterwards, her mother disappeared. A friend attempted to pay for Julieth’s education at KEMPS, but failed to do so. Julieth’s teacher Laudia helped reduce the fees by having Julieth live in her home at school. It was this teacher’s recommendation which brought her to us where she was awarded a scholarship. Her reports throughout the years show Julieth in the top five of her class – a serious student. Since 2024, a special sponsor has supported Julieth in her education. Congratulations, Julieth! (See GlobalGiving Report from February 2024).
