January is the month of transition for Tanzanian primary and secondary school students. It is also a busy work season to get all of our scholarship students either back to school or moving up to a new school. Since we have just finished this year's heavy lifting in helping all of our 82 children to school, we will share just a few photos and notes from the last six weeks.
The first photo is of our students at St. Kizito Primary School - Alphonce, Jordan, and Lightness - together with our associate Arnold who does so much of the groundwork in caring for our scholarship recipients. The second photo is of our students at Bethania Primary School in Kemondo. We have reported on Winston (far right) previously. He is now in class seven and preparing for those all-important national exams which often determine a child's future. For more on Winston, see our report from August 2018 when he joined us.
The last two photos are of Ines: the first from primary school (2016), and the second taken last month at Iluhya Secondary School. She joined us in 2014 and has been seen in many of our GlobalGiving reports since then. Ines is now in her third year of secondary school and is doing wonderfully. She sends her greetings and thanks to all of the GlobalGiving donors who have given her this chance to succeed in gaining an education at good schools.
The volunteers of the GLK Student Fund also thank you for your continued support of our deserving students as they return to school.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
