This update is somewhat personal for me as it is about a student that I sponsored through a monthly donation. The GLK Student Fund began supporting Stavian when he was at Ilyuha Secondary School. When he first came to us, his family was struggling to support him with limited resources and asked for help from the scholarship fund.
Years later and Stavian has now graduated from Form 4, the initial levels of secondary school. He will be moving forward to the next stage in his education which is Form 5 and 6 as he passed his national exams and was awarded a study placement by the government. This placement is a great honor. Stavian will be attending a school in Ngara and focusing on History, Geography, and Kiswahili as his main areas of study.
This year, the GLK Student Fund had four secondary school graduates who were awarded government placements for higher studies. Although this GlobalGiving project is aimed toward supporting primary school students, two of these four graduates, Alex and AnnaGrace, were originally part of this project. We thought you would want to hear the good news of their success. We hope you will appreciate hearing about how we continue to support our students, even after they complete primary school.
Congratulations to Alex who will be joining Ihungo High School in Bukoba, majoring in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. AnnaGrace will be focusing on the same subjects, but at a different school in Biharamulo. Wivina will be majoring in Economics, Geography and Math - joining Stavian in Ngara.
We are so excited for all of our students moving on to Form 5!
