This day something different happened, Alejandra left home, walked along the paths of her town, crossed her uncle's wheat field, met her friend Isabel and arrived at her school, when she finished her reading classes, the teacher took her students to the patio, they found some boxes and suitcases, their curiosity led them to approach them, some said they were notebooks, others thought they were empty, they tried to open them, and they got a big surprise, the boxes contained musical instruments! Happy and very excited, Alejandra took a kind of giant flute, with many golden rods and huge holes; she closed her eyes and told her friend that she should give the most beautiful concert in the world, together in the main square of their town, and before the eyes of all her friends and in the front row.
90 km from the Oaxaca capital is San Francisco Chindua, Alejandra's home, girls and boys of different ages live in this municipality, where, as in many other places, they dream of one day becoming great professionals. However, the marginalization they face every day darkens the feeling of hope, leaving their people go to work in the United States to have what they call “a better future”, forgetting their roots and losing the identity of their people. With your support we are building a reality and a better future for Alejandra and her friends in a place where it would be impossible for mothers and fathers to allocate their financial resources to buying a musical and teaching music classes, hire a music teacher to continue creating spaces that benefit Oaxacan children, we hope that these girls and boys are the new generation of musicians who interpret the most beautiful musical notes.
