Our PIGs (Partners in Giving) Club Membership Drive is underway this month!
Join our exclusive group of compassionate members who donate to the sanctuary on a monthly basis through the PIGs Club. By July 31st, we hope to expand our club membership by 31 new donors.
Our special members sustain us in a way that pays our animal care expenses every month. Without this special club, we could not do our lifesaving work for animals.

Luke Skywalker's new lease on life.

We recently received a rescue call that simply blew us away.
A local resident called us for "guidance" on how she should euthanize her aging rabbit at home by placing the rabbit under a bucket with glue. She had heard mice were "humanely" euthanized in this manner. Under a bucket, she said, a mouse would inhale the glue's toxic fumes and die slowly.
Listening to the caller's voicemail, our jaws dropped in horror. We quickly returned the call and instructed the caller that this practice of killing a rabbit (or any animal) is illegal and grossly inhumane.
After a lengthy discussion of why rabbits deserve veterinary care and support, we convinced the caller that we could offer guidance in a different way. We offered to take the rabbit into our care. Thankfully, the woman agreed to surrender the rabbit to us.
According to the caller, the rabbit has had a shockingly large mass on his testicle for at least six months. No vet care whatsoever. No pain control medication. Just prolonged suffering.
We are so relieved our new friend is safe with us now, receiving the compassionate care he deserves.
This sweet soul now has a name. Please give Luke Skywalker a warm welcome to the sanctuary.
