For children who survive leukemia and cancer, completing treatment is only the beginning of a much longer journey. Months or even years away from school often result in learning gaps, social isolation, and a loss of self-confidence. Many children return to education carrying emotional as well as physical challenges. Rebuilding their lives requires much more than medical care. It requires access to a safe, supportive, and high-quality educational environment where they can regain confidence and prepare for their future.
This is exactly why LÖSEV established LSV Schools. Our schools provide completely free education exclusively for children who have survived leukemia and cancer. Every student receives comprehensive support that removes the financial burden from families who have already faced the enormous costs of a child's illness.
Education at LSV Schools extends beyond the classroom. Students benefit from foreign language education, robotics, science laboratories, arts, sports, music, social activities, nutritious daily meals, transportation, educational materials, and psychosocial support. Our goal is not only academic success but also helping children regain a sense of normalcy after one of the most difficult experiences of their lives.
Today, LÖSEV supports more than 110,000 registered leukemia and cancer patients across Türkiye. Every year, many children successfully complete their treatment and begin preparing to return to everyday life. For these children, education becomes one of the most important steps toward independence, recovery, and long-term wellbeing.
Supporting one child at LSV Schools costs approximately $9,727 per year, or about $27 per day. This support covers:
Since launching this campaign, we have received five donations totaling $33.73. Although this represents only the beginning of our fundraising journey, every contribution helps raise awareness of the importance of education for childhood cancer survivors and brings us one step closer to providing more children with uninterrupted access to learning.
Our long-term vision is to ensure that no child who survives leukemia or cancer has to abandon their education because of financial hardship. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, build friendships, discover their talents, and dream about the future.
On behalf of our students and their families, we sincerely thank everyone who has chosen to support this mission. Your generosity is helping children rebuild not only their education, but also their confidence, independence, and hope for the future.
