This report will focus on the activities done for the months of September, October, November and partly December. The rehabilitation and empowerment initiative under the help a child get back to school project is continuing to grow currently there are 18 beneficiaries in the first cohort. The ngao foundation also managed to secure a sponsorship for a rescued girl who is now studying for a diploma in Nursing at Kenya Medical Training College(KMTC) Bomet campus.
The Ngao Foundation has also managed to enter into a partnership with Parazzolo Vocational Training Institute, where the focus shall be put on bringing collaborative initiatives to help youth and children access vocational training courses easily. This will also help the ngao foundation provide a route to a better life to those youth in the community who have a passion for skills such as cosmetology, hairdressing, plumbing and carpentry.
There have been several mentorship sessions for young girls and boys on topics such as self-esteem, developing a successful mindset, and career guidance among others. There have also been several training sessions on matters to do with sexual reproductive health among adolescents. There is also an upcoming football tournament which will be held on 10th December 2022, the aim of this tournament is to promote social development, and the importance of teamwork in accomplishing one's goals and improving their well being.
Challenges.
With the little funds we have, we are continuing to positively impact the lives of many youth and children in Kangemi for a better future, however, there is a funding challenge, we are seeking more donations to support and empower youth and children in informal settlements for a better future.
