With your contribution you are helping more young people return to their life projects!
One of the most frequent worries young people with cancer have is, “what am I going to do when I finish my treatment?“ Will I be able to return to my normal life?” Family and friends often don’t know the answer to this.
To offer guidance to this population, in november 2016 the last youth support group was held, in it we had more than 20 participants whom through games and recreational activities, had the chance to to reflect about their life-project.
Thanks to your contribution and support we were able to invite a psicologist and life-coach who, through Logotherapy presented the different dimensions of the human being (personal, family, profesional, social and emotional) and listened attentively to the young’s questions and fears.
The professional remarked the importance of a right attitude to life after cancer, acknowledging the possible physical limitations, disease sequelae, and treatment, as well as the fears of possible relapse. All these aspects, create an inevitable change between the before and after cancer, but such change should not, in any way, frustrate the plans and life-projects, but become a motivation for new ventures.
Finally, the activity ended with a breakfast where everyone felt content and cared for. For this reason, we keep inviting you to be our partners and to keep on helping the young to fight for their hopes and dreams.
