By Sinders Rincon | Coordinator of the Childhood Cancer Program
From the Colombian Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation we continue working for the well-being of young people with cancer.
Sofía del Mar, 14 years old, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of cancer that affects the bones, and is currently undergoing treatment. She has a great talent for singing, that is why she dedicates part of her time to sing and praise God in the church she attends.
Even though her prognosis is not favorable, she has decided to continue living with joy and gratitude. During this time of treatment she has composed two wonderful songs and has dedicated herself to recording them and making the audiovisual material with the help of a music producer. This dream would not be possible without the support of the Foundation and other generous donors, who with their contributions are making Sofi's dream possible.
At the Foundation we are happy to support initiatives like this that arise from difficult and almost always unexpected situations, but that make us stronger and more creative.
You can also contribute to initiatives like this. What do you think of our work?
