CanSer Poder Ser

By Yolima Mendez | Sinders Rincon

Thanks to your support we can contribute to the well-being of young people with cancer

Since 1988, the first Sunday in June has been celebrated in the United States as National Cancer Survivor's Day, whose objective is to give visibility to the needs of cancer survivors and their families.

To commemorate this special date, the Colombian Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation has prepared its theatrical play CanSer Poder Ser, starring 4 childhood cancer survivors, who in a natural and emotional way share their experience when they were diagnosed, as well as the learning and reflections left by this experience.

CanSer Poder Ser contains reality, humor, fantasy and inspiration, which makes this work something unique and inspiring. The protagonists are 12, 16, 17 and 23 years old. They received a cancer diagnosis, underwent treatment, and today they are sharing their experience to inspire other children and young people.

The play, which is directed by the actors Luisa Gómez, a patient with Lymphoma, and Flavio, will be presented at the Teatro Hilos Mágicos in the city of Bogotá, on June 25 at 7pm.

The funds obtained from the function will be invested to benefit children and young people with cancer currently undergoing treatment.

This play will possibly become a movie, we are in talks to make it a reality. This excites us a lot because in this way the message and reflections on cancer can reach many more people.

What do you think of this play? Would you like to contribute to this project?
