Three days of constant rainfall in Kanyakumari on November 2021, the heaviest rain recorded in the region in a decade left many parts of the district inundated with thousands of people evacuated and shifted to nearby camps. However, nearly 14 places in Kanyakumari saw rainfall of over 100mm within 24 hours, and a few other places recorded rainfall of around 200 mm.
After this heavy flood, most people had lost their income sources, and they were helpless to ensure their income security to meet their daily needs. And specifically, the widows were not able to get back from this disaster due to the absence of income sources.
VOICE Trust has supported 25 needy widows to rear Goat farming, provided health mix powder to 75 children, and reinforced two families to install small vegetable shops in their village.
