Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought with passion and diligence. Computer education is one of the modern fields of sciences we need nowadays. People use technology as the best solution to make things easier especially in career and education.
In the Philippines, there is a high percentage of youth that didn’t finish their high school educational level. To address this, the government formed a program called the “Alternative Learning System” or ALS in every municipality in the country to let the young people proceed to their vocational careers.
Children's Joy Foundation, Inc. lent a helping hand to the ALS program specifically in the municipality of Panglao, Bohol.
(I have a cousin, named Jodel, he studied Information and Technology course, and he said that IT is a difficult field but I know if I will spend the time to learn that then surely I will also learn it just like he did. He has been my inspiration to reach my dreams. But when he died in an accident, I was lost and demotivated. I wandered aimlessly and my interest in studying faded and I got hooked with computer games. In 2010, I stopped studying. This was a wrong influence caused by my peers. I only finished the first-year level in high school. But last year, 2017, I continued my studies under the ALS program specifically in computer course. However, we don't usually have hands-on activities with actual computers. Alternatively, I just watch my friends how to download, how to make a PowerPoint presentation and edit videos where I learn a little but I don't really get the idea of doing that technical stuff.)
During the Computer Literacy Program implementation, AJ was active in class in learning new things using the available laptops. He wants to continue what he dreams to become one day. (Thank you Children's Joy in your program, in sharing your knowledge to us especially to me, in letting us use your computer units, you have a good heart. I wish someday that I can also help others that also need computer literacy education. Thank you all!)
Indeed, Children's Joy Foundation, Inc. never stop helping these young people to reach their dreams in their lives.
