Thank you for your generous support to help provide fruit trees for 50 Afghan farmers! Planting season is quickly approaching (beginning in September) and our farmer families are working to prepare their land to plant more fruit trees.
With the funds raised thus far, GPFA will be able to provide at least 275 fruit trees, enough to help 6 farmers develop new commercially viable orchards. With your continued support we know we can reach our goal of helping 50 farmers! GPFA will provide farmers with saplings and the required training to learn the basics of planting, pruning, growth and pest control, tree nutrition, irrigation, and harvesting. Not only will this increased volume of fruit trees benefit Afghan farmers and their families, but these trees will help renew the environment by improving the local air, water, and soil.
We hope you’ll join us in continuing to support Afghan farmers in generating sustainable livelihoods through the planting of fruit trees. We look forward to sending out another update this fall with highlights from the planting season!
